Another photo from Big Al’s retirement from a few weeks ago (no, this is *not* the pic o’ the day!).
At many retirement ceremonies these days there is a flag presentation that is sort of neat. 5 or so unit members, usually from the most junior enlisted in the unit to a rank equal to the retiree (or some reasonable facsimile thereof) pass a flag, properly folded and, in my and Big Al’s case, flown over the capital (for what THAT is worth…/snark off), in a solemn and poignant ceremony while a narrarator reads a script of what Old Glory has meant over the years. The whole thing is not too bad.

Hey, that sounds like a pretty cool part of the ceremony. And, yes, it’s still nice to have a flag that was flown over the Capitol.
I like the picture, too.
