Related to the last cruise of the USS Enterprise, National Review Online’s Mark Krikorian mentions the petition that has been circling around for more than a few years about naming the next carrier to come off the ways in Newport News Enterprise. I know…online petitions are about as useful as a bench grinder in a Victoria’s Secret…its a nice tool to have but it just doesn’t do much.
Note the last sentence, with no disrespect intended at all, from anyone:
There have been nearly 1,000 Marine and Navy combat deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan — any one of those is more appropriate as the name of a ship than the USS Gabrielle Giffords.
Word. To the max.
