USS Harry S Truman, pierside, before the COMPTUEX in June. Its a big’un – the pic, not just the ship – so click for the full effect. Teddy Roosevelt is to the right.

Were you on the NavBridge or the FlagBridge?

JC,
I was actually outside on the catwalk that is just forward of Primary Flight Control, on the 0-10, so I was just one level above the Nav Bridge.

An OHP and another carrier to the right, plus two helos airborne. I have to go there for some vacation some day! It’s lower down on the wife’s list of vacation spot me thinks.

It’s amazing to see the presence a huge carrier can have in a conflict zone just by the line of sight from the tower. Very effective indeed.

Plus two LPD-17 with their distinctive masts. It looks like at least one, maybe two, Wasp class LHD on the far far right. The ships with the raked masts in the background on the right I’m not sure on. I could look it up but eh, it’s saturday morning.

Matt,
Aegis destroyers have that raked mast. Enjoy your Saturday/Halloween late afternoon
