Hidy Ho peoples! I know you are getting sick of my collateral duties that are keeping you from my rapier wit and cogent analysis of all things important (burp).
Back to Norfolk tonight for the weekend. This is my second to last drill since the “official” reserve retirement date is set for 1 Jan, 2010.
In the meantime, heartfelt prayers and thoughts go out to the Army folks in Fort Hood. Kath, who posts over at Parrothead Jeff’s blog, posted this picture which reflects many of our thoughts in a rainbow sort of way.
I’d say I’m off into the sunset, but I head south, and the sun sets these days sometime around 4 pm, it seems.
Later.
YES!!! He can still fit into that old Grumman flight suit – 18 years later!
Ambrose: I know you asked about the orange flight suits earlier. When Navy guys would check into the Defense Plant Rep Office at Grumman, it was like Poopie Christmas all over again - new helmet, new flight gear, AND the Grumman orange flight suits. About as useless as can be these days, but still nice to have. Kind of like that canister of chaff I have on my desk at work – and about as useful.

Hey Pinch, a little warning – I need my shades with you wearing that suit. I’m jealous – I can’t fit into anything from 18 years ago.
A little late – Halloween was last week. LOL

Pinch, you are doing OK. I can’t fit into anything I was wearing last week!
I know, the answer for that is burn more calories than I eat.

Hard to believe that in the early 60’s we were still using the international tangerines as front line (yes feet dry too!) poopie suits!
You SOOOO need to be at Tailhook next year at the Bug Roach in that baby!

Sunglasses DEFINITELY needed! Love the expression, though.
As to fitting stuff, I have to brag that I was very happy to be at the seamstress’ today… having a formal dress taken in 1-1.5 inches.
A nice feeling! Definitely recommended…

Thank you for the link.
(You’re not wearing that out of the house, are you?!)

I can no longer fit in my Dress Blue, Jumper or Dress White, Jumper uniforms anymore. Must be nice. I can however with a bit of effort get my peacoat buttoned. Just don’t ask me to raise my arms or move quickly.
