4th of July Offerings

July 4th, 2013 · 4 Comments · General

“Thrust Reversers”.  Different (side) view of an osprey as she comes back to her nest.  This is almost the exact same flight dynamic in the image a few posts back, but from the side.  Throw the wings into an almost forward-flap routine to cut down on her forward motion.  The blurred wings and pretty-much in focus face is nice too.

They say if you nail the eye…if the subject’s eye is in perfect focus, you pretty much nailed the shot. I like this one. Nice composition, wings look nice, and that eye…sweet!

and you can’t have a 4th of July post without this beautiful bird!  This one was out there this morning as soon as I got to the Marina and promptly began to give me a Departure show shortly after I started snappin’ pictures.  Nice shots.

And just a second before those big wings grab a big gulp of air.

Happy 4th, y’all!

Hey Larry…no, just one of my usual hiati (hiatuses?) in the world of blogging. Been a busy few weeks – drove nearly 30 hours this past weekend (Fri to Monday) to attend the funeral of my uncle Ken AFTER a trip to see my parents in NC the previous week.

Thanks for the prod…I’ll get back up on the blogging stoop this week!
